Had the urge to go take photos at the IEA show at Andrews this weekend. Unfortunately I missed most of the advanced classes, but the little kids are sometimes more fun to take pictures of anyway! The sad truth here is that my camera is just not up for much of this. It was dark in the indoor arena, with patchy lighting, and when you add a dead auto-focus taking pictures can be pretty hit or miss. It’s more difficult than shooting theater because everybody is constantly in motion! I still got some good shots–and part of this whole process is just finding the right moments. It was definitely still worth it, and at least I’m becoming more comfortable with the horse show world!

  1. these make it clear what hard work this is–focus, framing, catching the best moments, getting the horse’s ears up…so much to put together! love the looks on the kids’ faces.
